In order to store your wine optimally and to keep its taste at its peak, wine cellars have been introduced for a long time. Wine cellars are the storage rooms for wine and barrels, which are specially designed and constructed with the idea to store wine, so as to keep its taste up to the mark. These rooms protect both wine and champagne from humidity, temperature, light, and other external factors.
Since time terracotta containers, smoke-filled rooms, and underground catacombs are used to store wine and have been playing the role of a wine cellar. Though we have traveled a long way since then and the concept of wine cellar has been upgraded and updated with technology, electric products, furnishings, and a lot more. The new version of wine cellars are equipped with products to maintain the favorable temperature required to store wine and these rooms are also called climate-controlled wine rooms.
We should know how many types of wine rooms are there. Actually, there are two types of wine rooms and they are -
1. Active cooled wine cellars: these wine rooms are actually automated climate-controlled wine rooms. Cooled wine rooms are fused with cooling equipment which helps maintain the perfect temperature to preserve your classic investment. These rooms are also responsible for maintaining the humidity of the room as well.
2. Passive cooled wine cellars: whereas these wine rooms do not have any automated climate control, they are built underground. A passive storage cellar consist of wine walls, rooms and other storage products. These rooms are not changed or modified to the best of wine. These are actually old, ancient concepts of wine storage, but no doubt till date they look classic just like wine.
